KeaBudget

Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-06-21

KeaBudgetis a free personal budgeting app, built in the open by an Auckland-based developer. By using it you agree to these terms. We've kept them short and in plain English.

It's free

The personal app costs nothing to use, there are no ads, and we never sell or rent your data. Some optional extras are or will be paid: automatic bank sync, when it lands, carries a real per-connection cost, and a contractor tier is planned. Those have their own clearly-stated pricing, and using the personal app itself stays free.

Not financial or tax advice

KeaBudget shows you your own numbers and some estimates, including tax-year summaries, GST and tax set-aside figures, and the pay and KiwiSaver calculators. These are general tools for your convenience only. They are not financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice, and they can be wrong or out of date. Always check anything important with IRD or a qualified professional before you rely on it.

Your account and your data

What you enter is yours. You can export or delete it at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account entirely (see our Privacy page). Keep your login details secure: you're responsible for activity under your account. If you add other people to the flat-bills splitter, please only use a name or label you're comfortable storing.

Fair use

Please don't misuse the service: no attacking, overloading, or trying to break it, no accessing other people's accounts, and nothing unlawful. We may suspend access that puts the service or other users at risk.

Provided as is

KeaBudgetis offered as is. It's an independently-built project, and while we work hard to keep it accurate and available, we can't promise it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or fit for a particular purpose.

Our liability

To the extent the law allows, KeaBudgetand its developer aren't liable for any loss arising from using, or being unable to use, the app, or from relying on any figure or estimate it shows. Nothing in these terms limits any rights you have under New Zealand law that can't be excluded.

Changes and availability

We may update the app, these terms, or stop offering the service at any time. If we make a material change to these terms, we'll update this page and, where it matters, let account holders know. Continuing to use KeaBudget after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
