Compare your spending, period by period
Line up two periods side by side and see how each category changed, with plain-English insights on what crept up and what you trimmed.
Seeing this month's spending is useful. Seeing how it stacks up against last month, or the three months before, is where the decisions come from. From today there's a Compare view for exactly that.
What it does
Pick two periods and KeaBudget lines up your spending category by category:
- Presets for the common questions: last month, last 3 months, last 6 months, each compared to the period right before it.
- A custom range if you want a specific stretch. It's compared to the same number of months immediately before, so it's always a like-for-like read.
- Plain-English insights up top: how much more or less you spent overall, your biggest increase, your biggest saving, and how many categories moved which way.
Every category shows the old and new amount, the change in dollars and percent, and a small bar so you can eyeball what shifted. Power crept up? Groceries came down? It's right there, biggest movers first, with the steady bills tucked away so they don't clutter the view.
Honest by design
It only ever compares complete months, so the half-finished current month never reads as if your spending suddenly dropped. And it's spending only: income and transfers between your own accounts are left out. These are your own recorded numbers grouped for a clearer look, not financial advice.
You'll find it under Compare spending in the menu, with a quick summary on your dashboard. Want the comparison to do more? Tell us on the ideas board.
