Split the flat bills without the flat meeting
A new free tool: add your flatmates and shared bills and see exactly what each person owes per week, split evenly or weighted by room size or income.
Working out who owes what in a flat is a classic source of low-grade tension. So here's a free tool to make it boring (in a good way).
The Flatmate Bills Splitter takes your shared bills, rent, power, internet, whatever, and your flatmates, and shows what each person pays per week. A few things make it genuinely useful:
- Everything is normalised to weekly. A $260/month power bill and an $800/week rent get added together fairly, so the per-person number is real.
- Split evenly, or by share. Different room sizes or incomes? Switch to "by share" and give each person a number. Someone on a share of 2 pays twice what someone on a share of 1.
- Send the link. The share link encodes the whole split, so you can drop it in the group chat and everyone sees the same maths. No arguments.
It's a small thing, but a clear, agreed split is one less thing to chip away at a flat. And when you want to actually track who's paid, that's what KeaBudget is for.
