Four more free NZ calculators: PIR, emergency fund, compound interest and Working for Families
Four new free, no-login, no-ads calculators built on current NZ figures: find your KiwiSaver PIR, size an emergency fund, project compound growth, and estimate your Working for Families payments.
The free calculator collection just grew by four. All free, no login, no ads, and built on current New Zealand rates.
- PIR calculator: find the prescribed investor rate your KiwiSaver and managed funds should use (10.5%, 17.5% or 28%). The wrong rate means you quietly overpay tax, and a lot of Kiwis have never checked.
- Emergency fund calculator: work out your 3 to 6 month safety net from your real essential spending, and how long it'll take to build at your savings rate.
- Compound interest calculator: see how a lump sum plus regular top-ups snowballs over time, with a year-by-year split of your money versus interest. Works for savings and term deposits too.
- Working for Families calculator: estimate your Family Tax Credit, In-Work Tax Credit and Best Start from your family income and number of children, on the current 2026/27 rates.
That takes the free tools to fifteen, all in one place at keabudget.co.nz/tools. Got one you wish existed? Add it to the ideas board and we'll build the most-wanted.
