KeaBudget

Kia ora, we're live

The waitlist is officially open. Here's what KeaBudget is, why we're building it, and how it'll roll out over the next eight phases.

Kia ora. Today is day zero.

After months of thinking about it, the KeaBudget waitlist is finally online. The plan: build a free, genuinely good budget tracker made for Kiwis, one phase at a time, in the open.

Why now

Years of building enterprise software, and the same question kept coming back: why do personal finance apps in Aotearoa still feel either clunky, American-flavoured, or locked behind $15-a-month paywalls. So we're building the one we actually want to use. Free at the core, forever.

What Phase 0 is

Just the waitlist page you're looking at. No product yet; that starts in Phase 1. But getting a few hundred early Kiwis on board before writing the first line of app code means we'll build the right thing, not just a thing.

If you've signed up: ngā mihi. You'll be the first to know when each phase drops.

What comes next

Weekly updates, right here on /updates. You can subscribe via RSS if that's your thing, or just check back.

Next post drops in a few days, about what's shipping into the landing page itself before Phase 1 proper.
