A spending report you can point at any category
Pick a period and any categories to see the total, the weekly and monthly average, how it moved on the period before, each category month by month, where the money went, and the biggest spends.
The new Report tab on Trends answers "how much do I really spend on X?" for any period you like: this month, the last 6 or 12 months, the last 2 years, this or last tax year, or your own dates.
Pick one category or several, and it shows:
- The total, what that is a week and a month, and its share of all your spending.
- How it moved compared with the same number of days before.
- Each category over time: groceries, power and petrol side by side, month by month (or by quarter over longer periods), with what went up or down.
- Where the money went, grouped by shop, and the five biggest spends.
A month that isn't finished yet is marked and left out of the "up or down" figures, because half a month always looks like a drop.
"See these transactions" opens the same slice in your transactions list, and "Export CSV" downloads it. The transactions list has a category filter now too, with search.
